Owens continued to build experience in the championship during 2021, with a best result of 14th place, securing point scoring finishes at Oulton Park and Donington Park. His performance at the penultimate round was his career best finish in the championship as he returned from injury, which had sidelined him for several rounds.

The team also have continuity with their title sponsor for a second year with Rapid Training, a Harrogate-based company that deliver advance road rider training across the UK.

Owens said: “I’m happy to be back on the Superbike grid for 2022 and grateful for Rapid CDH to keep me on after a tough 2021 with an injury making me miss most of the season. I feel we made a great step forward together this year and when we were on track, we showed great potential. We are getting stronger, so I’m really excited to focus on getting back to full fitness and improving, so that we can continue to bring home some strong results.”

Team Owner Dean Hipwell commented: “We are delighted to sign Josh again for the new season. We had a positive start to 2021 and were shaping up for a great season. Unfortunately, Josh got injured and that halted some of that momentum, but we have already started preparations and bike development for 2022 and look forward to what we can achieve next year. I would like to thank all of our team partners for the continued support!”
